Saundy: Planning application has been submitted for six turbine wind farm

Partnerships for Renewables (PfR) are now waiting for the application to be registered by Bassetlaw District council and then a three week official consultation period will begin.

Last October public exhibitions on the proposal were held by PfR in both Beckingham cum Saundby Parish and Gainsborough.

Head of communication at PfR, John Mills, said: “In order to help local residents and stakeholders to easily access details of the final submitted planning application, including a range of photomontage views showing how the development would appear from local viewpoints, we will be holding two community drop-in surgeries timed to fall within the council’s consultation period on the application.”

“We are also keen to gather ideas on how the £75,000 a year Community Benefit Fund arising from the project should be administered, in the event that planning permission is achieved and the development goes ahead.”

Two drop in sessions will be held.

The first will be on Thursday 29th May between 3pm and 7pm at The Recreation Room in The Green, Beckingham.

And the second will be on Friday 30th May between 3pm and 7pm at The United Reform Church in Church Street, Gainsborough.

This will give people the opportunity to view the planning application in its entirety, including the environmental assessments and a wider range of photomontages that will be produced for the planning application.

John added: “Members of the project team will be on hand to discuss the details of the project and answer any questions, with copies of the planning application documents available to view.”

The company has been working with the Environment Agency to investigate the viability of a wind energy development at the site since 2011.
