CRAFT-LOVERS are in for a treat as the popular Salvation Army Craft Club are set to hold a special event in Gainsborough.

Club organiser Ann Betts has organised a craft fair which she says is going to be a very grand event.

“This is going to be a great event which the Craft Club has been working toward for all of this year,” she said.

“Since we first appeared in the Standard, we’ve had a terrific response from the people of Gainsborough and the surrounding area.”

Ann continued: “The ladies of the club have been very busy, both at home and on Thursday afternoons, working their fingers to the bone with all sorts of crafts, and working toward this Craft Fair in order to raise vital funds for them to carry on the work in the town, which is very much on going.”

“We have 42 names on our books for membership of the club, not everyone comes every week but we average 20-26 every week. It is held on Thursday afternoon at 1-30pm-3-30pm.”

She went on: “Not only has it been a success with crafting, it has also been a great success in bringing people together.”

“Friendships have been formed, and support too for various needs. What a difference it has made to my life too.”

Ann added: “The friends I have made, has certainly helped me over this passed year since I lost my husband. “

The Gainsborough Salvation Army Craft Fair will take place on Saturday 10th November 2012 at The Salvation Army, Beaumont Street, Gainsborough, from 10am - 1pm.
