Audiences are in for a wonderful year of theatre with Rotherham Rep’s new season which opens this month at the Civic Theatre.

The plays offer something for everyone, from classics, drama, a spooky thriller and a comedy.

The Rotherham Amateur Repertory Company season opens on Tuesday 17th September with Richard Harris‘s Visiting Hour.

Set in a hospital during visiting hour, Harris, mixes the comic with the not so comic to have the audience reaching for their handkerchief one moment and rolling in the aisles the next.

Everyone remembers the antics of the Little Grimley Amateur Dramatic Society in Last Tango in Little Grimley and, by popular demand, they are back on 20th November with two more hilarious ‘classics’ featuring the same incompetent characters in Last Panto in Little Grimley and The Fat Lady Sings in Little Grimley.

Next year’s plays include the hilarious, tragic, yet liberating comedy drama One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest; Alan Ayckbourn’s 61st play, the chilling thriller Snake In The Grass; and Hay Fever - Noel Coward’s witty comedy of bad manners.

Tickets are £8 each and available from the Rotherham Civic Theatre box office on 01709 823621 or 01709 823640 or at www.rotherham.gov.uk/theatres
