The body of a man found in the River Trent has been confirmed by Leicestershire Police as that of missing Josh Cotton.
At this stage the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
The 22-year-old lived on his narrowboat, The Spirit, at Sawley Marina on the river and was last seen at around 4pm on Friday March 11, on the bank close by.
Searches have taken place throughout the area to try and locate him, and Leicestershire Police said scores of people responded to appeals for information.
After news was announced yesterday that a body had been found, readers took to Facebook to express their condolences.

And Deena Draycott said: “Just 22. Incredibly sad. Condolences to all involved.”
