FUN-LOVING kids made the most of their half-term holidays by enjoying a week of exciting activities.

Gainsborough Town Council held a week of events and activities at Roses sports ground including craft-making, drama workshops and a football academy.

Activities Officer Holly Parker said that it was a great way to keep the kids busy during the holidays.

“We had five days of workshops for different things,” she said.

“We had quite a good turnout from pupils from local schools and nurseries in the area and they all got stuck in.”

“They got to make puppets and put on their own drama plays and perform them for the parents.”

“We painted animal masks – so parents dropped off children and picked up animals, which was fun.”

“There was also a soccer academy held by Dean Walling, who used to play for Lincoln City, which everyone really enjoyed. Sport always goes down well in Gainsborough.”

“It’s a lovely thing to do and I would encourage more kids to take part in future. These activities are free and tend to tire the children out!”

She added: “To keep these services going, we really need kids to attend. Witout many more attending, we don’t know whether to stop them, but they are a great free service and well worth coming to.”

The next event will be held at Richmond Park in Easter, and activities will include crafts and paint-balling.
