Train enthusiasts desperate to catch the best view of the Flying Scotsman as it travels through Nottinghamshire have been urged to stay clear of the line by British Transport Police.
Several trains had to run ‘on caution’ for a short time on Thursday morning as up to 60 trespassers were cleared from the line near St Neots in Cambridgeshire.
The world famous train will pass through Nottinghamshire today following a ten-year multi-million pound restoration.
A spokesman for British Transport Police (BTP) said: “We understand people are excited about the Flying Scotsman’s return, but the railway is a hazardous environment and trespassers endanger their safety and that of others.
“We will monitor the situation as the Flying Scotsman continues its journey, and would urge the public to stay clear of the line.”
