Police say he was verbally abused by two men, who then crossed the street and assaulted him. The victim received minor cuts and bruises.

One of the attackers is described as white, around 5ft 6ins - 5ft 8ins tall and of stocky build. He was aged in his late teens or early 20s and had short light brown or ginger hair.

The second is taller at around 6ft and of slimmer build, also white and in his late teens or early 20s, with short dark hair.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in that area of Carlton Road at the time, particularly two men who the victim noted were wearing fluorescent jackets and a woman with a pushchair who could be possible witnesses.

Anyone who recognises the two men or witnessed the incident is asked to telephone Worksop Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
