PICTURES: Style and socialising at Bawtry's fashion week

Whilst the national media may be talking about the international fashion weeks that have taken place, a small market town near Doncaster was creating a buzz of its own recently.

Now in its fourth year, Bawtry Fashion Week saw a range of events hosted by the town’s fashion retailers to which loyal customers and visitors enjoyed.

“Thanks go to all the retailers who participated and to everyone who enjoyed the events that they hosted,” said chair of Bawtry Retail Association Rebecca Dickenson. “Our fashion week adds a real emphasis to the amazing selection of fashion and accessories on offer in Bawtry and it was great to see the retailers working together to make it another great success.”

During the week the team at Yasmine of Bawtry hosted a couple of seated presentations showcasing the 2016 Joseph Ribkoff spring/summer collection where guests enjoyed a glass of fizz whilst glimpsing what this iconic brand has created for the season ahead. Meanwhile, Robinsons of Bawtry welcomed a representative from Wolford who showcased their exciting new products including the award winning Pure legwear with bonded seams for improved fit and comfort. Bawtry Shoe Company ran a prize draw to win one of three pairs of shoes and Cherish Dress Agency celebrated a ‘Week of Colour’ with a series of colour analysis taster sessions.

“The week culminated with a photo shoot on the town’s pedestrian crossing with girls from Poppy’s Elite modelling race wear from Infinity boutique, sunglasses from Bawtry Eye Academy and hair by the Vanilla Rooms,” said Rebecca. “And thanks must go to Bawtry Bar and Brasserie for a fantastic after ‘show’ party where retailers from the town were able to network and celebrate their successes once again.”

The week was also supported by restaurants in the town with China Rose and Caviars offering special promotions for visitors to the town to enjoy.

Bawtry Retail Association (BRA) is a member organisation of businesses and retailers in the town. They work together to promote the town, attract visitors and business investment and host a calendar of events throughout the year.

The town’s retailers range from designer clothing boutiques for all the family, art galleries, gift shops, home accessories and specialist food outlets.
