HUNDREDS of Gainsborough Standard readers made their voices heard by voting in this year’s Cute Kids competition – and now we bring you the results.
Nearly 1,000 votes were counted after we printed the final 56 finalists – but sadly, there can only be three winners.
Each winner shall receive a canvas print of the photo they had taken at Morrisons when they entered.
The winner of the 0 - 1 year-old category was Oliver Goodall and the winner of the 1 - 2 year-old category was Jack Alcock, while Taylor Steele won out of the other 2 - 3 year-olds.
Oliver’s proud mother Bethany Barker from Tooley Street, Gainsborough, said that she was absolutely delighted with the result.
“Everyone is always doting on him everywhere he goes,” she said.
“People just can’t get enough of him – even people who don’t know him, he’s just gorgeous.”
She continued: “We weren’t sure if he’d win because of all of the other babies in the competition, but deep down we knew because of all of the attention he gets.”
“Everyone knows and loves him and we are just over the moon that he has won.”
Bethany added: “We’ll definitely be treating him.”
Another proud parent of victorious tot was Jack Allcock’s mum Debbie who said: “I’m really pleased because there were so many other children in the final and because it went on votes I wasn’t sure if he’d win.”
“Either way, I think he’s gorgeous. He’s a really happy and boistrous child who’s very friendly with everybody and always has a smile on his face.”
She added: “A lot of my family kept saying ‘oh you should put him in the competition because he’ll win hands down’ and they all thought he’d win it.”
“Everybody loves him to bits.”
Taylor Steele from Ropery Road Pre-school won the 2 - 3 year old category, and his mother Lucy said she couldn’t be any more proud.
“I’m a bit shell shocked!” she said.
“I wasn’t expecting it, but he definitely deserves it. In my eyes he was better than anyone else.”
Lucy continued: “I just did it for a bit of fun and I wanted his photo taken, and I’m just ecstatic that people have voted. I’m so thankful to everyone who voted for him.”
She added: “He’s a very loving little boy and I’m a very proud parent.”
