The Council’s registration service currently has 1,210 wedding and civil partnership ceremonies that were booked from June to September at its register offices and approved venues.

There are six register offices across the county and 67 approved venues where Council registrars can carry out weddings and civil partnership ceremonies.

Worksop’s Nottinghamshire Register Officer & The Victorian Suite and The Rowan Suite, Retford, are among the most popular venues with Notts couples this summer - a period that is considered the best time to get hitched.

Helen Scaman from the Council’s registration service said: “The summer months are typically the most popular, as people hope for a nice sunny day. We’ve already welcomed hundreds of couples and their guests through our doors this summer.

“Whilst we can’t guarantee the weather, we can promise an excellent ceremony in any of our beautiful venues which all have outdoor areas for photographs.

“Even though it’s a busy season there are still spaces if people want to book.”
