With a history for showcasing the stars of the future, Nottingham Rocks returns to the Theatre Royal this September to showcase the city’s best up-and-coming music artists.
Backed by a 14-piece orchestra, the line-up for Nottingham Rocks on Saturday 6th September has now been announced and will now look to emulate the likes of Indiana and Saint Raymond.
Singer-songwriter and headline act, Joel Baker, who’s mesmerising vocals and moving lyrics have attracted serious national attention already, will team up with fans including Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and Fearne Cotton.
Shelter Point’s haunting sound, mixing beautiful melodies against heavy bass, has earned the duo rave reviews, national airplay, and comparisons to artists such as James Blake and Radiohead.
Noah, a local duo comprising singer Rebeka Whittle and guitarist/singer, Joe Baxter are regulars on the city’s music circuit and describe their sound as ‘rootsy, tribal, folky pop’.
Champions of the ‘Future Sound of Nottingham 2012’, After Dark Movement, is one of the city’s most widely respected bands with their unique sound drawing admirers from the urban scene and live gigging circuit alike.
All tickets for the event are £8 in advance, but will go up to £10 if they are bought on the day.
