BRAND new electronic information screens are to be installed at Gainsborough’s Lea Road train station as part of ongoing improvements.

The £2.2 million joint investment programme delivered by East Midlands Trains and Network Rail will see new information screens installed in Gainsborough later in the summer.

The new customer information screens are linked through to East Midlands Trains’ Control Centre in Derby, which means the information is constantly being updated to ensure passengers get a fully accurate picture of their train’s departure.

Customer information manager for East Midlands Trains Rob Mason said: “We know how important it is for rail travellers to have easy access to fast and accurate information about their train service. The installation of these new screens, which use the latest digital technology, will make a big difference to our passengers.”

He added: “As the CIS screens are linked through to our control centre, our team will be able to keep them constantly updated with the latest information, meaning that passengers can easily keep a check of their train’s departure time.”
