A BRAVE Gainsborough football team have swallowed their pride to grow moustaches for good causes as part of Movember.
Members of Blues Club FC are proudly sporting their new facial furniture to raise as much money and awareness as possible for crohns and male cancer charities.
They’ll also be throwing a special fundraising party at the club for all of Gainsborough’s moustached massive to come out and show off their mo’s.
Team member Jay Slack that it was a pleasure to do something so bizarre for such a good cause.
“We’re all having a go - well, those of us who actually can grow a moustache,” said Jay, 26 from Morton. “There are about eight or nine of us taking part.”
“I grow a ‘tasch every year for Moember and just thought it would be a laugh to get the team involved and throw a party.”
He continued: “We really wanted to do something daft for a good cause and everyone looks absolutely ridiculous.”
“There’s all sorts going on with people’s moustaches - we’ve got everything from handlebars to curly French ones.”
Jay added: “Whether you’ve got a tasch or not, please come to our charity night and disco this Friday as it looks like it’ll be a really amazing evening.”
Blues Club FC captain Ben Crawford continued: “There are so many people that we need to thank for their support.”
“We owe a lot of gratitude to Isma Ali for helping to organise everything and to Meet Meep Creative Ltd, Horsley’s, A and P Rose, DW Sports and all of the local other local businesses for donating raffle prizes and help.”
They’ll be hosting a special charity fundraising night at The Blues Club, North Street on Friday 30th November from 8pm till late.
