YORKSHIRE’S Jake Millward starred in a weekend of thrills and spills at Armthorpe’s FatCat Motoparc in the Reb Bull Pro Nationals series.

But the 18-year-old evenutally had to settle for fourth place in round two of the Red Bull Elite Youth Cup after his form took a tumble.

Oakleaf Kawasaki rider Millward won two out of three races in front of his home crowd to burst out of the blocks on Saturday.

But the Sheffield rider came unstuck the following day when a crash on the penultimate lap of race four saw him drop from first to last, before settling for third in the fifth and final race of the weekend.

Race conditions at the Armthorpe track were described as “brutal” on the event’s official website, with several riders in both the rookie and senior events struggling to stay on their bikes during the course of the two-day motocross festival.
