Misterton senior citizens’ annual party is to be held on Saturday 18th January 2014, at the Methodist Hall at 4.15pm. If you have not attended before and would like an invite please contact Lorraine Hessel at 2 The Old Maltings, Misterton (tel: 01427 890850) to be included when the invitations are sent out immediately after Christmas. For those of you who attended last year you will automatically receive an invite but please note Lorraine’s change of address. New history group begins research
The inaugural meeting of the new local history group was held last month — and those attending went away with exciting areas of research to work on. This will contribute to displays in Misterton and West Stockwith next year to mark the centenary of the start of The Great War. So, whether your interest is in our local memorials, battlefields, war poets, or post-war reconstruction, there’s research to be done! If you have any artefacts or memorabilia, the group would like to hear from you. The next meeting is on Thursday 16th January at 6pm in West Stockwith Village Hall. It’s not too late to join this exciting project - just come along or call David Seymour, project leader, on 890936, or e-mail Seymoursam@hotmail.com
