Mild weather set to turn cold, wet and very windy for the weekend

The Met Office regional forecast for the Yorkshire and the Humber for the next few days is as follows:

Today: Cloudy and rather breezy through the day, with a few bright spells possible in eastern areas. Staying mainly dry, though a few outbreaks of light rain are possible over the Pennines. Much milder than yesterday. Maximum Temperature 11C.

Tonight: Continuing cloudy, breezy and mild overnight, with outbreaks of rain continuing to affect the Pennines, occasionally affecting other areas also. Minimum Temperature 8C.

Thursday: Cloudy and mild again, with outbreaks of rain at times throughout the day. Staying breezy, with winds a bit stronger than on Wednesday. Maximum Temperature 13C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday: Friday turning colder and very windy with scattered showers, wintry on high ground. Saturday cold and windy but mainly dry. Sunday wet and very windy, but much milder.
