TIME-TRAVELLING pupils from Marton Primary School took parents and visitors back to the 1940s for an evening of Second World War themed entertainment.

To bring their curriculum work on the war to a grand finale, the kids pulled out all of the stops and planned a night of song, dance, drama and much more.

“It wasn’t just for the parents,” said headteacher Ben Stephenson. “We also wanted to get the wider community involved.”

“It brought back a lot of great memories for many of the older folk - they really loved it.” He added: “It was quite different to what we’ve done before, but the kids gave it their all and did a fantastic job.”
