Members of the Lynx Academy in Retford joined others from around the UK for a weekend of seminars at the The Mudo Academy of Great Britain & Chungdokwan UK with Master Kim Yong Ho 9th Dan
Master Andrew Blinston, chief instructor at the Lynx Academy, is also the general secretary of the Mudo Academy of Great Britain and also a verifier for a national governing body.
Master Kim, a former chairman of the the World Taekwondo Federation Technical Committee, conducted seminars throughout the weekend, along with Master Ron Brennan, president of the Mudo Academy of Great Britain & Chungdokwan UK.
Keys aspects of the seminars were breathing, health and wellbeing and the teaching of Pal Jung Do Patterns and systems.
Mediation and breathing through martial arts, enhancing direct powerand strength through patterns.
Master Blinston said: “An array of students filled the centre to watch Master Kim, who is aged 75, in action while juniors and seniors alike watched the fine figure of worldly knowledge of martial arts experience. It was breathtaking to watch.”
The weekend began with seminars in the art of breathing techniques, power and control.
Day two was focused around self-defence techniques and restraints along with the application of breathing correctness and martial arts and Paljungdo system. Finally, day three brought about traditiona lmartial arts sparring techniques and target practice, finishing off with self-defence.
As the weekend drew to a close, 18 delegates were invited to spend an evening with Master Kim to share his wisdom, knowledge and martial arts experiences. Master Kim spoke of his plans for the future and the success of the opening of the World Mudo Academy office in Seoul.
Master Kim’s next visit to the UK is scheduled for late autumn.
