this lucky charity lottery winner got a shock when she learned she had landed a £4,800 rollover jackpot.
Julia Burton, of High Road, Worksop, didn’t know she had a chance of winning a prize after donating a pound a week to the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice for five years.
Mrs Burton said: “I had no idea, I never thought it was a lottery. I just wanted to support the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, because it’s such a wonderful thing. I had a brush with cancer so it’s wonderful to support the kids at Bluebell.”
The retired teacher gave £100 back to the charity when Madeleine Oldale from Bluebell Wood presented her with the cheque at her home on Tuesday.
She will use the rest of the money to pay for a holiday for her twin sons, Mark and Andrew, both 43.
Anyone can enter the lottery by filling in a form, playing in local shops or online at www.bluebellwood.org.
