Notts Police are doing their bit for the county’s food banks this Christmas and are urging members of the public and fellow colleagues to donate any extra tins or packets that they might have at the back of the cupboard.

Following on from the success of last year’s collection, the teams are widening out the initiative to include the whole of the county with collection points now at Worksop and Retford police stations.

The team have decided to try and collect as much food as they can between now and Friday 20th December.

Head of Contact Management for the Force, Pauline Smith, said: “This is the second year that our front counter staff has gone out on their mission to help and support the public.”

“It’s a fantastic idea and I’m really proud of my team.”

“We really do care about the public we serve and it’s even more important at this time of year that we give something back.”

“We’re grateful for every donation, big or small. Every single item helps.”

Any food donations can be made by dropping the items into the front counter clerks at Retford Police station, Exchange Street, Retford, DN22 6BD between 10am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, and Worksop Police station, Potter Street, Worksop S80 2AL between 8am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday until 12pm Friday 20th December.
