Two men have pleaded guilty to the armed robbery of a Post Office in Worksop last year.

Shane Fletcher, 30, of St James Street, Hyde Park, and Ayrton Bint, 28, of Shepperd Road, Balby, pleaded guilty at Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday 11th June.

They will be sentenced on Thursday 17th July.

The duo were part of nine men and women charged with four armed robberies and an attempted armed robbery across Notts and South Yorkshire last summer.

The nine appeared at court on Monday 9th June to stand trial before they all entered guilty pleas.

DC Kath Coulter said: “The impact of a robbery can be extremely distressing and frightening, whether the victim is physically hurt or not, it is a terrifying crime as you are personally threatened with violence.”

“Thankfully there were no injuries sustained by anyone in these robberies, but the people subjected to these incidents were extremely scared and shaken.”

“I would like to thank the members of the public who helped the victims following these incidents and who have also assisted with the investigation, their cooperation has been greatly appreciated.”

“I am pleased the nine offenders have admitted their guilt and hope this result sends out a clear message that we will always investigate thoroughly to find those responsible and anyone involved in any form of criminal activity will be caught.”

Fletcher and Bint have been remanded in custody.
