A 34-year-old man was found in Gainsborough with stab wounds this morning (Thursday).
He was found in Beaufort Street, Gainsborough at 6.40am on Thursday 24th April and was taken to Lincoln County Hospital for treatment. His condition is not thought to be life threatening.
Residents of Beaufort Street were woken by police this morning but do not know anything about what might have happened to the man.
Lincs Police are trying to establish a scene where the stabbing took place as they have not been able to properly interview the victim.
The scene could be near to where he was found or somewhere quite local to that location such as Tennyson Street, Church Street or in the vicinity of Marshalls Yard.
The man was using a pair of white trousers to stem the blood flow and we are keen to establish where they came from. It is possible that they have been taken from a washing line somewhere close by.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the victim afterwards, or who may have any information about what has happened, is asked to call Lincs Police on 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
