A new pottery studio has opened and is offering classes to give you the chance to make yourself something from scratch.
Elaine Glover has opened up a studio in White Lion Yard in Gainsborough and is hoping to get classes up and running to allow people to work with clay and make themselves something to take away.
After working for a sculptor for 12 years Elaine wanted to branch out on her own.
Elaine said: “I thought I would see if I can make a go of it myself.”
“They have stopped teaching clay in schools and some children have never even felt clay.”
“You can take a blob of clay and make a fantastic product. It’s wonderful to do.”
“I will be looking to do mosaics, garden pots, vases, working on a potter’s wheel, kiln, jewellery and animals.”
All you will need to bring with you to the class is an apron as Elaine will provide all the other tools you need.
Elaine added: “People will be able to experiment with different kinds of clay.”
“Over two sessions you would be able to make and finish something.”
“The sky’s the limit depending on what you would want to make.”
If you are interested in booking a class with Elaine pop in and see her at her shop at 6 White Lion Yard, Lord Street, Gainsborough or give her a call on 07908 688480.
Elaine can accomodate up to four people per class.
