Gainsborough has been battered by gale force winds which continue to hit the country today (Thursday 5th December).
Waves crashed along the River Trent as wind howled along the deserted riverside.
A man was killed in Retford when he was hit by a falling tree in Kings Park.
There have been reports of other fallen trees around the county and the B1192 Willington Road in Kirton was blocked in both directions at the B1397 London Road junction, because of fallen power cables.
Some roads have been closed due to the severe weather and East Midlands Train service is asking passengers not to travel unless absolutely necessary due to the bad weather conditions.
The Environment Agency has just issued flood alerts along the coast of Lincolnshire to make people aware of the potential risk.
Environment Agency teams are on the ground confirming the flood defences are in good working order, monitoring sea levels and wind directions.
