Guardian News

Guardian News

A young pilot at Gamston Flying School in Retford will become one of the youngest ever people in the UK to gain a Private Pilot’s License (PPL) when he celebrates his 17th birthday next week.

Callum Burns, 16, will collect his licence on Wednesday 28th May.

It will make him the youngest PPL holder for a short period from that date.

He has passed all his skills test but cannot obtain his license until he is officially 17.

He has been flying at the school since the start of January of this year.

He currently flies a two-seater 152 Cessna plane but has ambitions to get a job on an airline with more experience.
