CELEBRATIONS are being enjoyed at Gainsborough Nursery after receiving a grading of ‘Outstanding’ from Ofsted.
The school, which was also voted ‘Best Nursery’ by Standard Readers in our First Class awards, said they were delighted with the result – which is the best grading available.
Headteacher Jo Noble said that this was a reflection of the hard work put in by staff.
“The inspector said that the teaching is outstanding with very well-planned activities,” she said. “They also said that staff take exceptionally good care of the children and their families.
Inspectors also praised the curriculum and how it meets pupils’ needs and said that children had ‘exceptionally good behaviour because from the outset, staff set high standards’.
The school gained a coveted Grade 1 in each of the four areas that Ofsted inspects: achievement of pupils, quality of teaching, behaviour and safety of pupils and leadership and management.
The only suggestion for improvement from Ofsted was that the school consider what further support can be given to the children who have the shortest time in school.
