Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service has thanked people for trying to stay safe during Friday’s period of strike action.

Firefighters walked out in a row over pensions from 12 noon until 5pm, and will strike again from 2pm Saturday until 2am Sunday.

A third period of industrial action will take place from 10am until 3pm on Sunday 4th May.

On Friday, contingency crews from North Somercotes and Louth responded to an emergency landing by a light aircraft in Grainthorpe. No action was required.

In Lincoln, two contingency crews were sent to a report of a kitchen fire on Henley Street. When they arrived they found no fire, but there were fumes from cleaning products.
