An exciting Oscars ceremony was held at Hemswell Cliff primary school in aid of celebrating the children’s efforts in making films during film week.
The film week involved the children having to write their own script and then having to use their acting skills, special effects and sounds to put together the best films possible.
At the end of the week everyone watched the films and each student was given a voting slip so they could vote for their favourite film.
On the Friday evening of the week the Oscars award ceremony was held.
The children got changed after school into party dresses and smart outfits, a red carpet was laid out for them and the hall was decorated with Oscar posters which were generously donated by the Odeon in Lincoln and by Katie Powell from the Trinity Arts Centre.
Parents and students attended the event where they were able to walk down the red carpet in their glamorous outfits to the Oscars ceremony.
The evening consisted of awards being given out for the best actor, the best actress, the film with the best special effects, the best sound track, the best script and of course the best film.
The children were awarded with special Oscar trophies, which were kindly donated by Smiffys in Gainsborough.
The winning film was then played to the parents and students.
After the awards had been given out there was a disco for all of the children so they could celebrate their hard work and success.
