When it comes to celebrations, Angela Williams knows a lot about big occasions.
The 59-year-old wedding shop owner from Carlton has been sending blushing brides down the aisle since 1995 and organising events for almost 40 years.
With her 60th birthday approaching, Angela decided putting on a dress and a party would be the way to go.
But the businesses has chosen to tie her birthday in with a fundraiser for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
Angela, who owns Feteful Days, hopes her big birthday ball will raise in the region of £5,000 for the hospice in North Anston. She will also be giving a donation to help Father Showry’s Diocese in South India which helps orphan children and the poor.
Angela said: “After a health scare in 2011, I realised how fortunate I was to be enjoying good health and not to be feeling my age. I have reinvented myself over the last year and I wanted to mark the occasion of my birthday not only by having the best party I could put together, but by doing something to make it count.
“I chose Bluebell Wood for a number of reasons, I always support children’s charities and events and I also found out that Bluebell Wood doesn’t get any funding, they have to find it all themselves, £3 million a year.”
The event is at Hodsock Priory, which has offered its space for free, on 1st December.
The night will kick off with a drinks reception and canapes, and there will be music, dancing, photographs and food.
Tickets are £45 and are on sale now from Angela by calling 07918 190383.
