More than 800 young people from across Lincolnshire will have spent a total of 24,000 hours developing and implementing nearly 80 community projects across the county by the end of summer as part of a nationwide voluntary programme called National Citizen Service (NCS).

NCS provides 15 to 17-year-olds with an opportunity to take on new challenges and develop vital life skills through a variety of exciting activities that enhance CVs and prepare young people for the future.

Phil Everett, Communications Manager for NCS EM1, commented: “During the final two weeks of NCS, each group takes part in a social action project where they develop and carry out a plan that benefits their local community.”
