Gainsborough businesses were triumphant at the Select Lincolnshire Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards 2014.

Redhill Farm, Hemswell Court and Uncle Henry’s Farm Shop and Café scooped top prizes at the annual awards run by Select Lincolnshire for Food and they recognise and reward the people and businesses behind Lincolnshire’s billion pound food and farming industry.

The winners collected their certificates at a ceremony held at The Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa.

Redhill Farm won Producer of the Year, sponsored by Roythornes Solicitors. Hemswell Court won Catering and Function Venue of the Year and Uncle Henry’s Farm Shop and Café won Retailer/Wholesaler of the Year.

Other winners included Gainsborough Old Hall who were highly commended in Tea Room of the Year, Canal View Bed and Breakfast in Saxilby were highly commended in the Select Lincolnshire Bed and Breakfast of the Year category and The Diary Barn in Ingham took away the top prize in the Select Lincolnshire Self-Catering Establishment of the Year category.

Coun Colin Davie, Executive Member for Economic Development, said: “My congratulations go to all the winners at this year’s Select Lincolnshire Awards.”

“We think Lincolnshire’s food and drink is worth shouting about, and these awards are an important way of celebrating the best the county has to offer.”

“And we’ll continue to do all we can to spread the message far and wide, strengthening our reputation as one of the UK’s top food spots.”

Gillian Richardson, Business Development Manager for Select Lincolnshire for Food, added: “The panel of judges found it a real challenge deciding on the winners because the competition was so tough and the quality of entries grows each year.”

“Winning such a prestigious county award is a great achievement.”

“I would like to thank every business for the valued contribution they make to Lincolnshire’s renowned food, drink and hospitality industry”.

The awards were sponsored by Lincolnshire Co-operative, Roythornes Solicitors and Lincolnshire Showground.
