Elskey: Showjuming hairdresser Dominique is crowned the top beauty in Rotherham pageant

Showjumping hairdresser Dominique Whitaker has been crowned Miss British Empire Rotherham.

Dominique, from Elskey took the title at a glitzy ceremony at Phoneix Club in Rotherham.

The 20 year-old, who works at Urban Lounge in Bawtry and is a member of the Great Britain showjumping squad, was judged over four rounds and an interview.

During her interview, Dominique revealed that her biggest achievement was helping her mum and sister get through the pain of her dad passing away,

“I now just want to make them proud,” she added.

Dominique won a stunning crown from Ruby’s Adorable’s as well as flowers from Paeony Flowers, a make-up goodie bag and 12 months model representation from Model Mentor Agency in Chesterfield.

She continued: “It has been the happiest and scariest day of my life and it will be one I will remember for ever,”

“I feel truly honoured to be representing Miss British Empire Rotherham over the next 12 months.”

Dominique is already getting booked for personal appearances, including the finals of Miss British Empire Hull and Sheffield, in which she will attend as guest of honour.

She will also represent Rotherham in the UK Empire Final which will be held in October in London, where she will compete against 31 other women from across the UK to win prizes including a trip to LA to meet with top agencies and a place in Miss Tourism Planet which takes place in Greece in the summer of 2015.
