Pharmacists in Bassetlaw and South Yorks are staging events across the region to promote debate and encourage people to have their say on their local NHS pharmacies.

The ‘call to action’ gives NHS England the opportunity to improve community pharmacy services for patients and develop current contracts to ensure the best possible use of resource.

It follows last summer’s “The NHS belongs to the people – a call to action” campaign which encouraged patients, staff and the public to join the debate about the challenges facing the NHS.

Peter Magirr, Chair of the local pharmacy network in Bassetlaw and South Yorks said:

“This call to action is a fantastic opportunity to help develop community pharmacies.”

“By sharing ideas, we can develop high quality, efficient pharmacy services which will allow better access and improved care for patients.”

“We welcome input from everybody in the local community and hope to see as many people as possible getting involved.”

Every year in England, 438 million visits are made to community pharmacies for health reason- more than any other NHS care setting.

You can get involved in the debate on twitter using the hashtag #CTAPharm.
