Police officers seized suspected stolen goods from an address in Aughton Crescent on Monday morning.

It is part of a six-week campaign to clamp down on burglary and the stolen goods market in South Yorkshire.

More than 50 officers working in teams carried out the six warrants in the dawn raids which started on 14th July.

Superintendent Scott Green, who is overseeing the operation, said: “Reducing burglary is a key priority for the force. It can have a huge impact on victims and is a crime we are determined to tackle.”

“Clamping down on the stolen goods market is one of the most effective ways to do that.”

“If burglars can’t sell on what they’ve stolen it makes the crime less attractive a prospect.”

“We want families to able to go out and enjoy the weather and the summer of sport knowing that police are doing everything they can to prevent crime.”

“I can assure the public we are robustly targeting those responsible for and involved in this type of crime. “

Reassurance and crime prevention visits are also being carried out by local officers in the areas where the warrants have been executed.

The campaign will continue for the next six weeks with officers targeting outstanding suspects and carrying out further crime prevention initiatives.

Anyone with information should contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 or, alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
