£120k bin lorry on fire in Notts.

This morning a bin lorry caught fire and the street was closed as the fire crew tackled the flames.

Today, Thursday June 23, a Bassetlaw refuse collection lorry caught fire on High Street in Misson.

Incident commander from Notts fire Brigade, crew manager Joyce said: “It’s recycle day so it should be just paper and plastics, most likely cause is someone has put something in their bin which has caused the fire.”

A representative from Notts Council stated that the lorry that is worth in the region of £120,000 which had to have its side cut open for the fire to be tackled.

Two Pumps and an incident support vehicle attended, crews spent several hours making the lorry safe.
