Watch con man warning

POLICE are warning residents to be careful and vigilant after a con-man selling watches has been reported in the area.

In recent weeks, there have been reports from Aldi, Lidl and the Roseway car park where a man with an Italian accent claims to have run out of petrol and needs to sell his watch to buy some to get home.

Lincs Police spokesman James Newall said: “So far two people have bought them for £50.”

“We would urge people not to buy them and to call us immediately with a description of the man and the car - particularly the registration number.”

If you have any information or have witnessed anything suspicious then you can contact Lincs Police by calling 101.

Alternately, you can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111.
