A WORKSOP school has expressed its sadness after one of its pupils was tragically killed in a car crash yesterday.

The five-year-old girl died along with her 22-month-old sister when the car they were travelling in collided with another at 4.45pm yesterday (Monday).

A statement from Priory C of E Primary School read: “We learnt today that last night’s fatal car accident involved children from the Priory School, Worksop.”

“One of our Year One children died in the accident along with her 22 month old sister.”

“All the Governors, staff and children have been told about the tragic events this afternoon.”

“As a school, we will be supporting our children and families during these difficult days. Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family and those close to them.”
