UPDATE: Road closed after Gainsborough cyclist hurt in lorry accident

Beaumont Street in Gainsborough is closed between Spital Terrace and the Tesco junction after this morning’s accident (Wednesday 13th March)

A cyclist was left ‘seriously injured’ following an accident in Gainsborough this morning at around 11.11am after a lorry and cyclist collided.

This occurred near the traffic lights on Spring Gardens, on the corner of Beaumont Street.

The woman cyclist was injured and an ambucopter attended the scene and transported her to Hull Royal Infirmary.

The road has been closed and will remain closed for several hours for police investigations.

Gainsborough Police say that the road is unlikely to reopen before 5pm.
