work to resurface Market Street and Church Street in a £500,000 14 week redevelopment project will being this month.

The next phase of the £3million Public Realm Improvement Scheme will begin in the second week of January.

Access will only be provided for buses, taxis and deliveries during the first three weeks of the work, and after 30th January there will be a full road closure in place in Market Street. The council says that access for deliveries will be arranged.

The Church Street bus stop will be closed until the end of March and a temporary bus stop provided in Roseway while new taxi ranks will be provided on Gladstone Street and Parnell Street until the end of March. Upon completion,there will be eight refurbished taxi ranks on Market Street and Heaton Street.
