Teddy bears in town for picnic

SANDWICHES cake and fizzy pop were just some of the treats being enjoyed by tots who went on a Teddy Bears' Picnic in Richmond Park this week.

Youngsters and their bears made the most of the fine weather when they popped along to the event which was run by the friends of the park.

This year’s annual picnic, also organised by Surestart and Gainsborough Town Council, was a great hit with children and their parents.

“This year’s picnic had a safety theme,” said Julie Willoughby, activity coordinator.

“We learned about safe water plan and had a talk from a PCSO about stranger danger.”

“It just gets better and better every year and it was lovely weather for it as well.”

Youngsters also made high visibility vests for their bears and matching bracelets for themselves.
