Gainsborough news

THINK Local First is the message from Gainsborough Town Partnership as the drive continues for businesses to work together towards a better Gainsborough.

And on Saturday 20th October, an extra stall will be set up in the town Market Place, to promote the idea.

Various offers and promotions will be available to customers from a selection of shops in the town.

All you have to do is go along, show your face and have a chat - it’s your chance to discover more about Gainsborough’s businesses community and what it has to offer.

Town centre manager David Hawkins said: “This is about promoting Gainsborough, our local businesses and making use of the potential influx of visitors over the weekend, securing a greater awareness of our town.”

The town will be all a-buzz from Thursday 18th - Sunday 21st October as visitors descend for the 4th Gainsborough Beer Festival at Gainsborough old Hall.

The event will also mark the Octoberfest festivities due to take place throughout the month of October.

Mr Hawkins added: “This will be a great way for local businesses to promote what they do best and boost their sales. And it will have a positive knock-on effect for the town centre as a whole.”

• Keep an eye out in the Standard for more details of the promotions that will be on offer on the day. And also for events happening as part of the Octoberfest month of festivities.
