A WORKSOP man has appeared in court after being found guilty of stealing Special Brew from a shop.

Brian Michael Rose, 40, of Netherton Road in Worksop denied stealing four cans of the drink from the One Stop Shop on Gateford Road on 26th October last year, but was found guilty after trial.

Appearing before Worksop Magistrates on 12th September, the court heard how Rose had a ‘severe drinking problem’ at the time of the offence, following the breakdown of a 10 year relationship.

Mr Verity, defending said: “He has made considerable progress since this offence, which happened nearly 12 months ago.”

Rose was given a nine month supervision order with three months alcohol treatment and ordered to pay £200 in court costs.
