FIREFIGHTERS tackled a spate of car fires in the Manton area of Worksop in the early hours of Saturday 11th February.

Crews were first called at 1.15am to a car on fire in Retford Road. They used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames, and left by 1.45am.

The next call was at 2.21am when a car was reported to be on fire in Netherton Road.

Again, one crew from Worksop attended and put out the fire by 2.45am.

While the crew was out, a second fire engine from Worksop Fire Station was called to another vehicle fire at 2.25am.

This time, they found a van which had been on fire but was out on arrival, on Hannah Park View.

Car fires have become a growing problem in the Manton area in recent months.
