President steps down
GAINSBOROUGH Amateur Operatic Society president Alice Pearson has stepped down after 16 years faithful service.
Mr Graham Spicksley paid a moving tribute to the work, support and dedication of Mrs Pearson at the society's recent annual general meeting and presented her with a bouquet of flowers.
Mr Michael Pickles has accepted the position of president for a period of two years.
Michael first became involved with the society back in 1968 during the production of "Brigadoon", and has kept close links with the society as a patron.
The society extends a warm welcome to Michael and looks forward to a closer working association.
