MEMBERS past present and prospective are invited to attend Gainsborough and District Branch of the Royal British Legion’s next meeting at 1.30pm on Thursday 18th October.

The branch is busy making final arrangements for this year’s Poppy Appeal - providing facilities and services for injured servicemen and women.

Many volunteers are needed to do a variety of roles such as distributing poppies and collecting on streets, in shops and workplaces.

Branch chairman Michael Wragg MBE said: “An army of 350,000 people supported the Poppy Appeal last year and helped raise a staggering £40 million to help care for our Armed Forces and their families.”

Further information about the meeting can be obtained by calling 01427 616852 or 01427 613441.
