Police praise hare project

LINCOLNSHIRE Police’s dedicated hare coursing team has been in existence for a month now and is reporting successful results.

The Galileo team have attended numerous incidents and stopped people who have travelled to Lincolnshire from all over the country to engage in illegal hare coursing activity. To date 21 men are being prosecuted for offences committed in Lincolnshire under both the Game Act and the Hunting Act. Five vehicles have been impounded, five dogs have been recovered using animal welfare legislation, and various leads, collars and mobile phones have also been seized.

If you spot any suspicious activity around Gainsborough call 101.
