Planning fraud probe at council
WEST Lindsey Council is to consider a report on potential fraud and mismanagement in its planning department.
The item will be taken in private session at a meeting of the full council on Monday 28th September.
A council spokesman said an internal investigation was being carried out after potential problems in the planning service management had been brought to its attention.
"We are working with the Audit Commission and further investigations are being carried out," said the spokesman.
The council also confirmed that a manager in planning services had been suspended.
"This is a neutral act to allow a proper investigation to take place," said the spokesman.
