Pedal power helps celebrate parks
A cycle ride for women took place from Langold Country Park as part of the Breeze network of cycle rides by British Cycling (w120924-5a)
WOMEN took to two wheels to celebrate their local parks as part of a national bike ride.
The Breeze in the Park event was inspired by the success of female athletes at this summer’s Olympic and Paralympic games.
Women got on their bikes with friends and family at Langold Country Park to take part in one of the rides.
There were longer and shorter routes available for all abilities.
Natalie Justice, women’s network manager for British Cycling was blown away by the response to the day.
“It’s been a fantastic day for women’s cycling and it’s heart-warming to know that women up and down the country have been getting out on their bikes and having fun,” she said.
“I want to say a big thank you to all our volunteer Breeze champions who are constantly inspiring more women to get on their bikes and it’s days like today where we can give cycling the spotlight it deserves.”
