PEDAL power was put to the test as youngsters from Lea Francis Olive Anderson School took home the first place trophy in the Olympic Big Bike Race Competition.

West Lindsey’s Coun Jessie Milne presented pupils with their well-deserved gold in a special ceremony.

School bursar Sarah Curtis said that the kids had done an amazing job to win the prize.

“It was a challenge across Lincolnshire schools,” she said.

“To tie in with the Olympics, the aim was to get as many children coming to school on bikes or scooters as possible in the summer term, and with more than 66 pupils taking part we were the best in the county.”

She added: “We’d like to say a huge well done to everyone who took part and keep up the good work!”
