FAILING to declare a change in circumstances has landed a Worksop man in court.

Wayne John Carter, 47, of Creswell Road, was found guilty after trial of two counts of failing to notify a change of circumstances relating to benefits.

The court heard he claimed income support and carers allowance while he was working. The DWP will make arrangements to recover £555.35 in overpaid income support and £833.25 carers allowance.

David Grant, defending, said Carter had notified the DWP on a Jobseekers form incorrectly.

He was sentenced to 100 hours unpaid work, with £250 costs.
